The fruit quality and intensity resulting from much diligence in the vineyard is, with some assistance from Giuseppe Caviola (CA’ VIOLA), harnessed into fine, elegant yet structured reds that add richness with age. Rombone, a potentially great cru, faces south-west; the Nadas’ superior selection from these slopes is aged in barriques but evolves into a very refined classy example with 5–10 years’ age. Seifile, a Barbera\/ Nebbiolo blend also gets the small oak treatment and is characterised by its complexity and fruit intensity. Dolcetto and Barbera, the latter of which sees some oak, are ripe-fruited but could sometimes use a little more weight. An estate that deserves to be better known.
