Hand-harvested grapes from the balanced 2023 vintage—characterized by moderate conditions yielding concentrated yet fresh fruit—undergo fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by 10-12 months' aging in French oak barrels (25% new) to enhance texture and complexity. As a family estate founded in 2004 by Craig and Anne Wessels, this production emphasizes sustainable viticulture, yielding a ruby red wine with garnet edges and poised intensity.

Tasting Notes An elegant, vibrant red with fresh red berries and subtle savory spice, reflecting Hemel-en-Aarde Valley's cool-climate terroir. The nose reveals ripe cherries, earthy mushrooms, and hints of clove, cedar, and rose petal. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and harmonious, with fine tannins, bright acidity, and flavors of raspberry, strawberry, and light spice, leading to a long, light-footed finish.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 14-16°C with 30-45 minutes of decanting to enhance aromas.
