(Wine Advocate Score 96) I had tasted this wine from barrel last year, and the wine was already shaping up beautifully back then. Staying the course, the 2015 Barolo Bricco Boschis shows extreme elegance and finesse. These are the characteristics of what is surely one of the most beautiful vineyard sites in Barolo. The Bricco Boschis cru affords a panoramic view onto much of the Langhe, with snowcapped Alps in the background. Barolo from Castiglione Falletto tends to show characteristics that are very fine, precise and linear. That's fundamentally what you get here despite the more exuberant and fleshy 2015 vintage. This wine is truly beautiful. Some 27,700 bottles were made.

Bricco Boschis – Nebbiolo for Barolo 100% coming from the parcels of Colle Sud Ovest, Vigna Punta Marcello and Vigna San Giuseppe. Fermented with indigenous yeasts, macerated with submerged cap for 20-35 days. Traditional in Slavonian Oak Casks for 3-3.5 years. Optimal structure but with already-soft tannins, and with an open, intense perfume that gives this Barolo characteristics of both power and great elegance. Complex and fragrant, can be enjoyed young but has great aging potential.

Since 1928, the Cavallottto family has owned the estate Tenuta Bricco Boschis. In 1946, they were the first cultivators in Castiglione Falletto to vinify all of their estate’s fruit. In 1948 they released the first bottling of their own BAROLO wine.

Cavallotto makes wines from two Barolo cru: the first is the Bricco Boschis from which comes the Barolo Bricco Boschis and the Barolo Riserva Bricco Boschis Vigna San Giuseppe; the other cru is the Vignolo, from which is obtained the Barolo Riserva Vignolo.
