On the 10th of July 1890, five families joined together to share their passion for wine and founded La Rioja Alta, S.A in the Haro Station district of Rioja Alta. La Rioja Alta represents the essence of vine-growing culture. Its vines are tenderly cared for on this 473-hectare estate, 360 of which are vineyards planted on limestone soil, in the best parts of Rioja Alta. Tempranillo dominates their vineyards, but in the past few years they have planted Graciano which adds a special personality to their wines, and Garnacha to make Viña Ardanza which is always attractive and elegant.
