The selected base wines for this single-vineyard sparkling wine come from the Kiedrich Turmberg, which lies at the foot of the keep of the former Scharfenstein Castle and which, with 3.8 hectares, is a monopoly property of the Robert Weil winery. Its soil is dominated by a unique, high proportion of phyllite shale. Quality parameters for the base wines are physiological ripeness with limited sugar content of the healthy grapes and a confident acidity. They are vinified using a classic bottle fermentation method [Méthode champenoise] with an extensive yeast storage period of at least 48 months to mature and develop a fine “mousseux”. A high level of substance combined with finesse and elegance prove the origin of this premium sparkling wine from the cool climate of the Kiedrich mountain location, Turmberg.
