Pale yellow tones with golden reflexes. Elegant and delicate nose at first glance with ripe fruit flavors then followed instead by sweet notes of almond and custard. Elegant on the palate, yet warm and full-bodied, all is balanced by notes of fruit, pear and quince over all, with fresh and intense final. Good minerality.

“Il Mario”, as it is called in the company, represents the qualitative apex of Schiopetto. This wine comes to life from grapes on the most beautiful slope, facing south, of the property. Vinified alone in steel, it comes out only in the great vintages, reaching a unique expression.

Attention to detail was the philosophy of Mario Schiopetto. Mario, who passed away in 2002, gave life to a wine culture in 1965 when he rented an old vineyard in Capriva and through the years transformed the estate into one of Friuli’s leading properties. To quote Robert Parker on his praise to this winery, “a brilliant producer, Schiopetto is the reference point for just how flavourful, perfumed, and compelling dry whites from Friuli can be.”
