A fuller styled pinot with lifted aromas of sour cherries, earthiness and spice. These characters follow through on the palate with a medium weight and textured mouth feel with soft tannins and a long finish. This wine is well suited to complement game meat dishes.

The pinot noir grape variety is well suited to the cool climate environment of the Pemberton region. The pinot noir fruit from Eastbrook vineyard typically has strong varietal characters. All viticulture and winemaking techniques followed are done so with the goal of promoting the unique characters of the Eastbrook vineyard. The fruit was picked, gently destemmed and then cold soaked for 5 days. A parcel was barrel fermented and underwent natural fermentation in new oak, the remainder went to small open fermenters and then to new and used oak. The wine spent eight months in Francois Frères and Taransaud pinot selection French oak barriques, 35% new, the remainder one and two years old.

Singlefile Wines is the dreamchild of Phil and Viv Snowden. In 1986, the geologists relocated from South Africa to Perth, where they established their mining business. In 2004, the couple decided to pursue their winemaking dream. With Phil and Viv’s geological experience, they share a compelling drive to understand the relationship between terroir and the style of wine each region creates. So, they dug deep to research the various wine regions of Australia, with a goal to uncover the best sites for the production of outstanding, cool-climate wines. They landed in Denmark, located in Western Australia’s Great Southern region and in 2007, purchased an established vineyard (planted in ’89).

In the past three years 31 of Singlefile’s wines have scored 95 points or above in this revered wine compendium, with 32 highlighted for their value for money. They have also been acknowledged as one of the Great Southern’s Top Cellar Doors and Best Tasting Experiences each year since 2013.
