"This is another wine that has been around a fair while, but it never fails to please.  It's a Bordeaux blend, mostly Cabernet Franc, and it has lovely freshness and acidity to balance flavours of mulberry and black cherry, blackberry and herbs.  It has good weight but it's never overpowering: the sort of thing that Stellenbosch does so well, provided that it has a winemaker as good as this".  (Hugh Johnson Pocket Wine 2022 - One of the Ten Wines to Try in 2022"

We’ve been making the Warwick Trilogy for almost 30 years, without skipping a vintage! It’s a powerful new-world expression of Stellenbosch terroir that sets itself apart; not only by being Cabernet Franc-fronted, but also through its multiple international awards.

The palate is as rich as it is intense. Superbly concentrated blackberries and cassis show on the palate, complicated by aromas of sweet spices and savoury elements. The tannins are firm, but well-structured and will allow the wine to age gracefully over the next 5 – 10 years. If you just can’t bear to wait, a few hours in the decanter will go some way to helping the wine open up.

Each component was harvested separately,de-stemmed and hand sorted into tank. The wines spent between 20 and 40 days on the skins, depending on their tannin structure with three or four pump overs per day. Once the fermentation is completed the wines are pressed to undergo malolactic fermentation in barrel and tank. After completion, the wine was racked to French oak barrels (55% new,2% third fill and 42% forth fill) for a period of 24 months before a strict selection process, where only the best barrels from the best blocks are selected. Components are blended and allowed to clarify naturally before filtration and bottling.

Built in 1791 under the name ‘Good Success’, the estate was re - named to ‘Warwick’ by Colonel Gordon in 1902 as a tribute to his regiment. Since 1964 Stan & Norma Ratcliff are its proud owners and the first to plant quality grapes for winemaking. It was Norma who, after the first attempts, was so impressed that she went to Bordeaux to study winemaking techniques. The very first Cabernet Sauvignon was released in 1984, which remains the flagship of the estate even today. At Warwick, each wine tells a story from the family’s or estate’s history. In Addition to the Cabernet Sauvignon, which is also used for the ‘Trilogy’ series, the Sauvignon Blanc is highly praised for its impeccable value and quality and a favorite of many who have tried it.

Warwick Estate The Trilogy was selected by Hugh Johnson as one of the "Ten Wines to Try in 2022" in his "Hugh Johnson Pocket Wine 2022".
