Forey

Domaine Forey is a small domaine created in 1840 by the great-grandfather of the current owner Regis Forey.  Domaine Forey has about 10 hectares of vineyards mainly in Vosne-Romanee, Nuits St-George and Flagey-Echezeaux.

Grapes are manually harvested.  After crushing, the must typically underwent a 3 to 4 days cold maceration.  Total time on skins is about 3 to 4 weeks.  Regis Forey prefers to have minimal racking during elevage and usually only one racking is performed.  The wines are aged for about 16 to 20 months in small oak barrels and demi-muids with 20% to 50% new oak depending on the cuvee.  Wines are unfined and unfiltered.
