From Concha y Toro in Chile’s Limarí Valley, the Amelia Pinot Noir 2022 is a refined 100% Pinot Noir sourced from the Quebrada Seca vineyard on calcareous soils at 250 meters elevation, where Pacific breezes and morning fog foster acidity and elegance. Hand-harvested grapes from the balanced 2022 vintage—marked by moderate conditions yielding concentrated yet vibrant fruit—undergo whole-cluster pressing and fermentation in French oak barrels (10% new), followed by 12 months' lees aging with malolactic conversion to enhance texture and purity. Named after Amelia Kemper, this production yields a ruby wine with garnet edges and remarkable finesse.
Tasting Notes An elegant, vibrant red with fresh red berries and subtle floral spice, reflecting Limarí Valley’s coastal terroir. The nose reveals red currant, raspberry, orange peel, rooibos tea, and hints of cardamom and floral notes. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and harmonious, with bright acidity, fine tannins, and flavors of cherry, strawberry, and minerality, leading to a long, mouthwatering finish.
Awards and Accolades The 2022 Amelia Pinot Noir earned 94 points from James Suckling for its exuberant appeal and lively acidity, and 96 points from Vinous for its dry, infusion-like palate and light, smooth texture.
Serving and Cellaring Serve at 14-16°C with 30 minutes of decanting to enhance aromas. Ideal as an aperitif or paired with grilled salmon, roasted poultry, or mushroom risotto. Enjoy now through 2032, during which it will develop enhanced earthy and savory nuances.
