(Wine Advocate Score 93) The 2018 Malleolus showed very well. It's a juicy, ripe and generous old-vine Tempranillo fermented with their own strain of yeasts and matured in French oak barrels. It showcases the house style—ripe and, in this case, with neatly integrated but generous oak. The palate is medium to full-bodied, and the tannins are fine. There is good freshness in 2018. It was bottled in May 2020.

A historical wine with deep roots. "Malleolus" has meant a before and after in the Ribera del Duero appellation of origin, detaching itself from the classification of wines by the time in the barrel to begin to value it for its vintage. "Malleolus", hawthorn in Latin, the way they call the vineyards in Pesquera de Duero, is an elegant wine with great personality and a perfect balance between maturity and freshness.

This Tempranillo wine comes from a selection of the winery's oldest vineyards: majuelos between 25 and 75 years old that preserve all their essence and that were rescued by the Moro family from the massive start that took place in Pesquera del Duero last century. This gives this Ribera del Duero wine an exceptional power and character.
