Crafted by Maison Joseph Drouhin under its Vaudon label, a dedicated Chablis-focused arm established to highlight the region’s unique terroir, the 2023 Vaudon Chablis is a pure Chardonnay sourced from estate and contracted vineyards across the Chablis appellation, featuring Kimmeridgian limestone soils rich in fossilized oyster shells at elevations of 100-200 meters. These soils impart the wine’s signature minerality and freshness. Grapes are hand-harvested, gently pressed, and fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks to preserve varietal purity, with no oak aging to emphasize the wine’s crisp character. This biodynamic approach, certified since 2009, captures the 2023 vintage’s vibrant acidity and concentrated fruit, shaped by a warm growing season that yielded balanced, expressive Chardonnay. The result is a wine that embodies Chablis’ classic elegance and Drouhin’s commitment to terroir-driven winemaking.

Tasting Notes

This Chablis displays a pale straw hue with green tinges, offering aromas of green apple, lemon zest, and white flowers, accented by hints of flint and saline minerality. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and refreshing, delivering flavors of citrus, pear, and chalky stone, supported by bright acidity and a clean, persistent finish.
