From Weingut Markus Molitor in Germany's Mosel Valley, the Wehlener Klosterberg Pinot Blanc Dry *** 2020 is a refined 100% Pinot Blanc sourced from the historic Wehlener Klosterberg vineyard near Wehlen, featuring steep slate slopes and traditional basket press methods that emphasize purity and minerality.

Grapes are gently pressed in the traditional basket press, spontaneously fermented with wild yeasts (part in large wooden fuders, part in barrique for added structure), and aged on fine lees to achieve a creamy texture with almost Burgundian finesse while preserving the estate's ideal of maximally natural Mosel white wine.

Tasting Notes A full-bodied, creamy yet precise Mosel Pinot Blanc with ripe mirabelle, pear, and subtle almond notes, delivering a dense, opulent palate with mineral freshness and fine balance from various top sites. The wine shows enormous density, power, and opulence with a creamy texture, mineral character, and harmonious finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2020 Wehlener Klosterberg Pinot Blanc Dry *** earned 96-98 points from Stephen Reinhardt (Robert Parker's Wine Advocate) for its precise and flinty deep, pure, intense and concentrated bouquet with noble sur lie and very fine, imbedded oak aromas, great definition, and very concentrated, rich and powerful, highly elegant and enormously salty Pinot Blanc with very fine tannins and great intensity.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 10-12°C with 20-30 minutes of chilling to accentuate aromas. Ideal as an aperitif or paired with seafood, poultry, or soft cheeses. Enjoy now through 2032, during which it will develop enhanced nutty nuances.
