Trimbach Gewurztraminer Sélection de Grains Nobles 2001

From Maison Trimbach in Ribeauvillé, Alsace, the Gewurztraminer Sélection de Grains Nobles 2001 is a rare dessert wine made from 100% Gewurztraminer. Sourced from organic 40-year-old vines in Grand Cru Osterberg and Muelforst, Hunawihr, on argilo-calcaire soils, it’s hand-harvested with noble rot, offering a deep gold hue with vibrant complexity.

Tasting Notes

A luxurious, sweet dessert wine with rich fruit and floral finesse, showcasing Alsace’s terroir.
The nose reveals lychee, honey, and apricot, with hints of rose petals, spice, and botrytis-driven complexity. On the palate, it’s full-bodied and luscious, with vibrant acidity, a creamy texture, and flavors of candied fruit, ginger, and a long, sweet finish.

Food Pairings

Pair this dessert wine with Western dishes like apricot tart or blue cheese to highlight its sweet richness. For Chinese cuisine, try 芒果布丁, 芝麻糊, 糖不甩, 桂花糕, 椰汁糕, or 糯米糍 to complement its honeyed fruit and spice. Ideal for post-dinner sipping or festive occasions.

Serving and Cellaring

Serve chilled at 10°C in a dessert wine glass to enhance aromas. Enjoy now or cellar until 2041 for added complexity. Explore our Alsace collection for more Gewurztraminer classics.
