Collection: Ch Cos Labory
The Château takes its name from its geographical location on the hill of Cos and from the name of François Labory, owner until 1845. Monsieur d'Estournel will then acquire it before reselling it to an English banker, Charles Martyns in 1852 It was finally George Weber who bought the property in the 1930s, before bequeathing it to his daughter and son-in-law, François AUDOY in 1959.
In 1971, the couple also acquired the neighboring vineyard , Château Andron Blanquet. Their sons will work alongside them for a few years on the two estates before Bernard, the eldest, take the reins of the properties. A man of the field with calm and reassuring strength, he has always lived in Saint-Estèphe and perfectly embodies his wine and the appellation he has chaired since 2000.
This eighteen hectare vineyard, placed on the hill of Cos, benefits from a terroir of quaternary gravel and remarkable drainage. To extract the best, we take care to perfect vintage after vintage the balance between plots and grape varieties. We choose rootstocks with low vigor and a high planting density.
Over time, the estate has evolved smoothly, through substantial technical investments, in particular an ultra-modern vat room and a new cellar. By opting for low temperature vinification to keep and extract the fruit, we also want to offer wines suitable for aging and accessible to young people.
