From Domaine Alphonse Mellot in France's Sancerre appellation, the La Moussière Rouge 2022 is a refined 100% Pinot Noir sourced from a 34-hectare south-facing vineyard on Kimmeridgian limestone marl soils, embodying 19 generations of family expertise. Hand-harvested grapes from the balanced 2022 vintage—characterized by warm days and cool nights yielding vibrant, fresh fruit—undergo whole-cluster destemming, fermentation in a blend of stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels, followed by 12 months' aging on fine lees to enhance structure and elegance. Certified organic and biodynamic since 2009, this production prioritizes terroir expression and minimal intervention, yielding a bright crimson wine with lively purity and refined poise.

Tasting Notes An elegant, vibrant red with bright red fruit and delicate spice, reflecting Sancerre's limestone terroir. The nose reveals fresh raspberry, red cherry, rhubarb, and hints of white pepper and rose petal. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and harmonious, with silky tannins, crisp acidity, and flavors of juicy red fruit, mineral earthiness, and a touch of spice, leading to a long, precise finish.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 14-16°C with 30-45 minutes of decanting to unfold aromas. Ideal with roasted poultry, grilled salmon, or mushroom-based dishes. Enjoy now through 2034, developing enhanced earthy and savory complexities over time.
