By Farr GC Côte Vineyard Chardonnay 2023

By Farr GC Côte Vineyard Chardonnay 2023

From the acclaimed By Farr estate in Geelong’s Moorabool Valley, Victoria, the GC Côte Vineyard Chardonnay 2023 is a flagship white named for founder Gary Charles Farr. Crafted from 100% Chardonnay, sourced from high-density plantings on limestone and clay soils, it’s hand-harvested and fermented in French oak. Aged 11 months in 50% new oak, it reflects the region’s cool climate with a pale gold hue and exceptional depth.

Winemaking Process

By Farr’s Burgundian-inspired approach defines this wine. The 2023 vintage undergoes whole-bunch pressing, followed by natural fermentation in 50% new French oak barrels over 1–2 months. Malolactic fermentation, initiated with light stirring, adds texture, and the wine is racked, fined, and lightly filtered before bottling, ensuring a concentrated yet refined Chardonnay with great aging potential.
