From Viña Concha y Toro in Chile's Cachapoal Valley, the Carmín de Peumo Carmenère 2019 is a refined 100% Carmenere sourced from Block 5 in the legendary Peumo Vineyard on deep clay soils at 170 meters elevation, featuring pre-phylloxera vines over 70 years old with low yields that deliver exceptional concentration and finesse. Hand-harvested grapes from the balanced 2019 vintage undergo fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by 18 months' aging in French oak barrels (70% new) to integrate power and elegance. As the flagship expression of Chile’s signature grape, this production yields a deep ruby wine with garnet edges and majestic depth.

Tasting Notes An elegant, opulent red with ripe black fruit and silky spice, reflecting Peumo's clay-rich terroir. The nose reveals blackberry, dark plum, dark chocolate, cloves, and hints of tobacco and vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety, with polished tannins, vibrant acidity, and flavors of cassis, licorice, and earthy minerality, leading to a long, persistent finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2019 Carmín de Peumo earned 96 points from James Suckling for its intense fruit, refined structure, and long, creamy finish.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 16-18°C with 60 minutes of decanting to unfold aromas. Ideal with roasted lamb, venison, or aged cheeses. Enjoy now through 2040, developing profound leather, truffle, and dried fruit layers over time.
