Terroir & Domaine Craft
- The "Les Insarts" Climat in Fuissé: Sourced from the lieu-dit "Les Insarts," located on gentle hillside slopes in the village of Fuissé in the southern Mâconnais. The terroir consists of Jurassic limestone mixed with deep calcareous clay and scree. This geological composition grants Chardonnay generous stone-fruit generosity and a silky, round mid-palate, while the underlying limestone preserves a refreshing spine of saline minerality.
- Château de Beauregard / Burrier Heritage: Managed by the Burrier family for six generations, Château de Beauregard is one of the historic standard-bearers of Pouilly-Fuissé. Viticulture is conducted sustainably with low yields and manual harvesting. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged for approximately 12 months in fine-grained French oak barriques on fine lees, the vinification honors traditional Burgundian élevage, striking a balance between textural richness and crystalline varietal definition.
Highlights
- 100% Chardonnay from the single-vineyard lieu-dit "Les Insarts" in Fuissé.
- Produced by the historic Burrier family estate with traditional Burgundian barrel aging.
- From the classic, balanced 2017 Burgundy white vintage; drinking at peak maturity now through 2028+.
Tasting Notes
Luminous golden-yellow with brilliant tints, it opens with expressive aromas of ripe yellow pears, golden apples, and white peach, layered with nuances of roasted hazelnuts, acacia blossoms, toasted brioche, and crushed chalk. The palate is medium-to-full-bodied, satiny, and generous, carrying ripe orchard fruit over a balanced spine of citrus freshness and fine mineral grip, concluding on a persistent, savory, and delicately nutty finish.
Serving Suggestion
- Temperature: Serve chilled at 11–13°C in wide Burgundy stems rather than narrow white wine flutes.
- Decanting: A brief 15-to-20 minute aeration in the glass allows its nutty complexity and stone fruit to fully integrate. Best enjoyed now through 2028+.
