From Cuvelier Los Andes in Argentina’s Uco Valley, Mendoza, the EL Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 is a refined 100% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from select estate vineyards on alluvial and clay-loam soils at high elevation that impart vibrancy and structure. Hand-harvested grapes from the balanced 2017 vintage—marked by moderate conditions yielding concentrated yet fresh fruit—undergo fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by 18 months' aging in French oak barrels to enhance integration and finesse. As a premium expression from the Cuvelier family’s Argentine outpost, inspired by their Bordeaux roots, this production yields a deep ruby wine with garnet edges and poised elegance.

Tasting Notes An elegant, structured red with ripe black fruits and refined spice, reflecting Uco Valley’s high-altitude terroir. The nose reveals blackcurrant, plum, cedar, and hints of violet and graphite. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied and harmonious, with supple tannins, bright acidity, and flavors of dark cherry, licorice, and a touch of earthiness, leading to a long, balanced finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2017 EL Cabernet Sauvignon earned 92 points from Vinous for its dense concentration and vibrant black fruit.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 16-18°C with 45 minutes of decanting to enhance aromas. Ideal with grilled beef, roasted lamb, or aged cheeses. Enjoy now through 2035, developing greater leather and earthy nuances over time.
