From Cuvelier Los Andes in Argentina’s Uco Valley, Mendoza, the Malbec 2020 is a refined 100% Malbec sourced from estate vineyards on stony alluvial gravel soils at high elevation, capturing the region's intense sunlight and cool nights for balanced ripeness and freshness. Hand-harvested grapes from the cool, balanced 2020 vintage—yielding vibrant acidity and concentration—undergo fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by 12 months' aging in French oak barrels (30% new) to enhance structure and spice. Rooted in Bordeaux-inspired techniques by the Cuvelier family, this production yields a deep violet wine with vibrant intensity and approachable elegance.

Tasting Notes An elegant, juicy red with ripe black fruit and peppery spice, reflecting Uco Valley’s high-altitude terroir. The nose reveals blackberry, plum, violet, and hints of black pepper and earth. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied and textured, with fine-grained tannins, bright acidity, and flavors of dark fruit, licorice, and subtle oak, leading to a long, harmonious finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2020 Malbec earned 93 points from James Suckling for its juicy fruit, refined tannins, and elegant balance.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 16-18°C with 45 minutes of decanting to enhance aromas. Ideal with grilled beef, herb-roasted lamb, or aged cheeses. Enjoy now through 2035, developing greater leather and earthy notes over time.
