From De Bortoli Wines' historic Yarra Valley estate in Dixons Creek, the Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir 2023 is a premium 100% Pinot Noir sourced from mature estate plots established in 1971 on iron-rich, decomposed basalt soils at elevation. Hand-harvested in a low-cropping, cool, and mild vintage picked in early March, the grapes undergo cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by maturation in French oak barriques for 9-10 months to enhance texture and complexity while preserving vibrancy. This commitment to sustainable practices yields a medium ruby wine with bright colors, amazing perfume, and expressive charm.
Tasting Notes An elegant, fruit-driven red with cherry and spice allure, reflecting Yarra Valley's cool-climate finesse. The nose reveals sweet cherries, sweet spices, smoke, and hints of violet and sandalwood. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and supple, with fine tannins, bright acidity, juicy red and dark fruits, and a generous core of vanilla and spice, leading to a long, silky finish.
