The Banneret estate is a very tiny property which only produce one red wine (Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge) and white wine (Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc).  Production volume is so tiny that only around 13,000 bottles are produced every year.  The wine style of Banneret is similar to the wine style of the famed Rayas Chateauneuf du Pape.  TThe main parcels are "Le Grand Pierre" in the north just below Rayas.

Vineyards falls into nine separate plots of old vines (with an average age of 70 years).  All the grape varieties permitted under the appellation law of Chateauneuf du Pape are grown, intermingled in each plot, and are cofermented.  Winemaking follows old percepts, with no destemming, only indigenous yeast, and long aging in 30 HL barrels and a few demi-muids for 24 months.

ACCOMPANIMENT This Châteauneuf-du-Pape, which traditionally accompanies meat, venison and cheese, can also be surprising when served with desserts, especially with chocolate whose sweet roundness it magnifies by the principle of contrasting flavours.
