This small site‘s advantageous microclimate ranks it among the warmest, most southerly facing and mineral-rich of the prized vineyards in Bad Kreuznach. The truly sublime Rieslings it has produced have played no small part in the growing global reputation of Nahe wines. Playful, finely fruity Kabinets and Spätleses and, in notable vintages, rich, dry Große Gewächse as well. Ten years ago we began recultivating an important section of this historic vineyard. 2017 presented our first opportunity to harvest a portion of its fruit for a dry Riesling. A rich yet extremely elegant Großes Gewächs, spicy with a finely chiseled minerality and fruit, and a concentrated depth of flavors — classic Krötenpfuhl!
