Kirsche means "cherry", so the old name of the site suggests that wild cherries grew among the vineyards. The soils of this purely south-facing sites are composed largely of grey slate, mixed with sandstone. Riesling wines produced here are full-bodied and at the same time display very spicy, delicately fruity characteristics. Age of vines up to 40 years. Racy acidity harmonise with a very ripe fruit sweetness in this brilliant, marvellous Riesling. A characterful Spatlese displaying great depth of flavour.
