The estate's plot is located at the intersection of Baudes Saint Martin du grand Maupertui of the Marais Bas and Baudes Hautes districts. Held for several centuries in the same unit by the family, it constitutes the golden square of Clos de Vougeot. In the upper part which is gently sloping, the soil is shallow and has a grainy structure with abundant gravel on the Bajocian limestone slab. In the middle the soil is brown and shallow, pebbles, limestone, more clay.
