Pure Raspberry, Savory Herbs, Silky Tannins, and Old-Vine Depth

Crafted under Jean-Marie Fourrier’s micro-négociant label, this old-vine Pinot Noir far exceeds its regional classification. Completely destemmed to preserve ultimate fruit purity, it delivers a brilliant core of wild raspberry and red cherry, woven with subtle earthy spice. Generous, silky, and elegantly framed, it perfectly balances old-vine concentration with Fourrier's signature vibrant freshness.

Highlights

  • 100% Pinot Noir sourced from mature Vieilles Vignes (old vines), bottled under Jean-Marie Fourrier's esteemed micro-négociant label, Vigne Comte de Chapelle.
  • Old vines naturally limit yields, resulting in a depth of flavor, textural weight, and concentration rarely seen at the regional Bourgogne Rouge level.
  • Vinified following Fourrier's strict domaine protocols: 100% destemmed to preserve absolute fruit purity and ensure a silken mouthfeel without any green astringency.
  • Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged carefully in older, neutral French oak barrels to allow the delicate aromatics and terroir to shine unmasked.
  • The generous 2023 vintage yielded beautifully ripe, expressive Pinot Noir characterized by upfront charm, velvety tannins, and excellent early approachability.

Tasting Notes

Pours a brilliant, transparent medium ruby. The nose is highly expressive and perfumed, bursting with pure aromas of wild raspberry, fresh red cherry, and crushed rose petals, accented by hints of savory herbs and subtle earth. On the palate, it is beautifully supple and medium-bodied. The concentrated old-vine fruit is framed by impeccably fine, silky tannins and a spine of vibrant acidity, leading to a long, refreshing, and incredibly pure finish.

Serving Suggestion

  • Temperature: Serve slightly chilled at 14–16°C (57–60°F) in large Burgundy bowls to enhance its lifted perfume.
  • Decanting: Minimal aeration needed; simply open 30 minutes before serving. Pairs wonderfully with roast chicken, grilled pork chops, or charcuterie. Ready to enjoy now through 2031.
