Highlights

  • 100% Chardonnay sourced from select Vieilles Vignes (old vines) across prime Meursault parcels, bottled under Fourrier's prestigious micro-négociant label, Vigne Comte de Chapelle.
  • The village's prized limestone and clay-marl soils contribute to the wine's underlying flinty tension, expertly balancing its natural opulence and rich weight.
  • Produced from old vines, which naturally regulate yields to deliver exceptional extract, textural breadth, and flavor concentration.
  • Vinified in strict accordance with Fourrier's low-intervention philosophy: whole-cluster pressed, fermented with indigenous yeasts, and managed with minimal lees stirring to preserve pristine focus.
  • The generous 2023 vintage yielded beautifully expressive Chardonnay, resulting in a classically styled Meursault with rich orchard fruit, subtle buttery notes, and vibrant energy.

Tasting Notes

Pours a brilliant, pale lemon-gold. The nose is highly expressive and distinctly Meursault, opening with inviting aromas of ripe white peach, Meyer lemon, and crushed flint, followed seamlessly by toasted hazelnut and a delicate touch of fresh butter. On the palate, it is full-bodied, broad, and texturally opulent, yet beautifully anchored by a streak of fresh, lifting acidity. It finishes long, intense, and profoundly persistent, perfectly marrying richness with crystalline tension.

Serving Suggestion

  • Temperature: Serve at 11–13°C (52–55°F) in large Burgundy bowls to allow the rich, nutty aromatics to fully unfurl.
  • Decanting: Minimal aeration required; simply open 30 minutes before serving. Pairs exquisitely with butter-poached lobster, roasted poultry in a rich cream sauce, or seared scallops. Drink from 2026 through 2036.
