From Domaine Jean-Pierre Guyon in France’s Vosne-Romanée, the Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2022 is a refined 100% Pinot Noir sourced from a select parcel within the 50-hectare Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru vineyard, featuring clay-limestone soils with varied microclimates that impart structure and elegance. Hand-harvested grapes from the balanced 2022 vintage—characterized by warm days and cool nights yielding concentrated yet vibrant fruit—undergo whole-cluster fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by 18-20 months’ aging in French oak barrels (40% new) to enhance complexity and finesse. Certified organic since 2012, this production emphasizes minimal intervention and terroir expression, yielding a deep ruby wine with garnet edges and profound intensity.

Tasting Notes A refined, powerful red with rich red fruit and complex earthy depth, reflecting Clos de Vougeot’s limestone-clay terroir. The nose unveils black cherry, rose petal, graphite, and hints of spice and forest floor. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet poised, with firm, velvety tannins, vibrant acidity, and flavors of ripe red berries, licorice, and mineral earthiness, leading to a long, structured finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2022 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru earned 94 points from Jasper Morris (Inside Burgundy) for its concentrated fruit and refined, harmonious structure.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 16-18°C with 60 minutes of decanting to unfold aromas. Ideal with roasted game, truffle-infused dishes, or aged cheeses. Enjoy now through 2040, developing profound earthy and truffle nuances over time.
