From Domaine Jean-Pierre Guyon in France’s Morey-Saint-Denis appellation, the La Bidaude Blanc 2022 is a refined 100% Chardonnay sourced from a high-elevation vineyard above Clos des Lambrays on clay-limestone soils, akin to those of Chassagne-Montrachet, imparting elegance and structure. Hand-harvested grapes from the balanced 2022 vintage—characterized by warm days and cool nights yielding concentrated yet fresh fruit—undergo gentle pneumatic pressing, fermentation in French oak barrels with early malolactic conversion, and 12-14 months’ aging in oak (20% new) followed by 6 months in older wood to enhance texture and complexity. Certified organic since 2012, this production emphasizes minimal intervention and terroir expression, yielding a pale gold wine with green highlights and poised intensity.

Tasting Notes An elegant, mineral-driven white with vibrant citrus and creamy richness, reflecting Morey-Saint-Denis's limestone terroir. The nose unveils crisp apple, lemon zest, white peach, and hints of flint and subtle oak spice. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and harmonious, with bright acidity, creamy texture, and flavors of citrus pith, green apple, and chalky minerality, leading to a long, refined finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2022 La Bidaude Blanc earned 92 points from Jasper Morris (Inside Burgundy) for its vibrant fruit and precise, mineral-driven structure.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 10-12°C with 20-30 minutes of chilling to accentuate aromas. Ideal as an aperitif or paired with seafood, white meats, or soft cheeses. Enjoy now through 2033, during which it will develop enhanced nutty and honeyed nuances.
