Sourced exclusively from the 4.5ha Moonshine Road Vineyard in Ebenezer (planted 1890s), these low-yielding, head-trained bush vines on sandy loam over limestone thrive in the cool subregion. Hand-harvested Shiraz undergoes open fermentation with gentle plunging, basket-pressed, and matured 18 months in 100% new French oak (500L puncheons and barriques) to integrate structure while preserving site expression, yielding 14.5% alcohol with remarkable freshness.
Tasting Notes
Inky purple hue with intense blackcurrant, blueberry, licorice, mocha, and graphite aromas. The full-bodied palate reveals layered dark fruits, savoury olive, firm yet fine-grained tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, persistent finish of dark chocolate and spice.
