Sourced from the 4.5-hectare Starderi vineyard on Neive's western side with southern exposure, featuring 55-year-old Nebbiolo on blue-tinted calcareous marl and clay soils moderated by the Tanaro River. Hand-harvested early-mid October, fermented 14-15 days in rotofermenters, malolactic and aged 20 months in French oak barriques (20% new, medium toast), plus 12 months bottle aging (unfined/unfiltered) at 14.5% alcohol.
Tasting Notes
Ruby red tending garnet; deep aromas of blackberries in jam, roots, incense, sweet spices, red berries, ripe fruit, and floral notes. Rich, powerful palate offers smooth silky tannins, mature structure, ripe fruit concentration, and persistent spicy finish blending elegance and depth.
