Blended from organically farmed Nebbiolo plots across La Spinetta's Castagnole Lanze and Neive sites with blue-tinted calcareous marl and clay soils, the 2023 benefits from a cool spring and sunny autumn for optimal ripeness. Hand-harvested mid-October, fermented 11 days in rotofermenters, completed malolactic and aged 12 months in second/third-use French oak barriques, rested 2 months in steel and 12 months in bottle before unfined/unfiltered release at 14% alcohol.
Tasting Notes
Medium ruby red with bright reflections; fragrant aromas of sour cherry, ripe raspberry, violet, black cherry, plum, chocolate, licorice, lavender, dried herbs, and fine spice. Juicy, opulent medium-bodied palate shows elegant fruit, fresh acidity, fine-grained persistent tannins, and a medium-long, precise, succulent finish blending primary fruit with savory hints.
