Livio Felluga Sossò Rosso Riserva 2016 is a benchmark Friuli red from old vines on gravelly Rosazzo slopes, blending power and elegance with dark fruit, spice, and silky tannins after extended aging. Deep ruby with purple hues, it offers wild berries, balsamic herbs, and tobacco on the nose with a velvety, persistent palate.

Sourced from the Sosso stream hillside in Rosazzo, this cuvée combines Merlot (dominant), Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, and Pignolo from vines over 40 years old. Grapes ferment with skin contact in steel and wood, blend early, then age 18 months in French barrique plus 12+ months in bottle, creating a structured 13.5% ABV red that reflects Friuli's mineral terroir and the ripe 2016 vintage.

Tasting Notes
Deep ruby red with purple reflections; vibrant nose of marasca cherries, blackcurrant, blueberries, violets, mint, liquorice, pepper, cocoa, and tobacco. Full-bodied palate reveals wild berries, candied orange, myrtle, sage, allspice, chewy tannins, saline minerality, and a mouthfilling, lingering finish.
