Corton and the other Corton vineyards are the only red Grand Crus of the Co¥te de Beaune. They are located on the hill of Corton, clearly visible from miles around and capped by low-growing oak trees. The vines are on a rather steep slope with a good south-east exposure.

Corton Les Perrières is a climat of the Corton Grand Cru appellation.  Comparing to other Corton climats, Les Perrieres is typically more refined and slightly less powerful, if still rich and tannic as a Corton Grand Cru.

Lucien le Moine is known for producing hand-crafted wines that are made with a minimalist approach. Never racking, no pumps, very low levels of SO2 and a heavy emphasis on working with the fine lees.

The natural CO2 from the malolactic is present even in bottle. In fact we are looking for this presence as it helps protecting the wine in the most natural way.
The CO2 protects the wine by closing it upon itself that is why ALL OUR WINES MUST BE DECANTED. With decanting CO2 will leave and the wine will show itself. If one has time decanting can be for a few hours, if not a few minutes: by pouring the wine into the decanter and moving it slowly allowing the gas to leave.
