From Weingut Markus Molitor in Germany's Mosel Valley, the Einstern* Pinot Noir 2020 is a refined 100% Pinot Noir sourced from the finest plots of the estate's vineyards on steep slate slopes, where finely splintered blue Devon slate and meticulous handwork produce wines of exceptional depth and tension.

The wine is aged in barrels for 18 months to develop structure, complexity, and elegance while maintaining the estate's ideal of maximally natural Mosel red wine.

Tasting Notes A concentrated, medium- to full-bodied Mosel Pinot Noir with a pure, intense, wonderfully concentrated and spicy, herbal/floral bouquet of ripe cherries and red as well as dark berries. On the palate, it is full-bodied, dense and intense, tight and energetic, powerful in the best way yet not alcoholic, revealing concentration paired with great elegance and finesse.

Awards and Accolades The 2020 Einstern* Pinot Noir earned 92 points from Stephen Reinhardt (Robert Parker's Wine Advocate). "Molitor's 2020 Pinot Noir Einstern * opens with an elegant, slightly toasty and slatey bouqet of ripe cherries intermingled with vegetal notes. Round and juicy on the palate, this is a full-bodied, intense and persistent Pinot Noir with juicy yet concentrated fruit, fine and spicy tannins and a good, intense and quite powerful finish. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in August 2024 from AP 156 23."

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 14-16°C with 30-45 minutes of decanting to enhance aromas. Ideal with grilled poultry, roasted pork, or mushroom dishes. Enjoy now through 2035, developing greater earthy and silky nuances over time.
