(Allen Meadows' Burghound Score 91) An elegant and admirably pure nose displays liqueur-like aromas of pear, honeysuckle, citrus zest and a hint of spice. Here too the medium weight flavors possess a lovely mouth feel if not quite the same concentration and complexity on the balanced and harmonious finish. This is certainly very pretty and sophisticated but the La Romanée offers another dimension of depth.
