Musso Barbaresco Rio Sordo 2014

Musso Barbaresco Rio Sordo 2014

From the historic Musso winery in Barbaresco, Piedmont, the Rio Sordo 2014 is a distinguished red from the renowned Rio Sordo cru. Crafted from 100% Nebbiolo, sourced from 1.2 hectares of 50-year-old vines on south-facing limestone-clay soils at 250–300 meters, it’s hand-harvested and fermented in stainless steel. Aged 30 months in Slavonian oak barrels and 12 months in bottle, it offers a garnet hue and mature complexity.

Winemaking Process

Musso’s traditional craftsmanship defines this wine. The 2014 vintage, from a challenging yet rewarding year, undergoes fermentation in stainless steel with 18–22 days of maceration and regular pump-overs. Aged 12 months in 50hl Slavonian oak barrels, 18 months in 20hl barrels, and 12 months in bottle, it develops refined tannins and tertiary aromas, creating a balanced Barbaresco with lasting elegance.
