From Nikolaihof in Austria’s Wachau, the Aus den Garten Chardonnay 2019 is a refined 100% Chardonnay sourced from biodynamically farmed vines in the garden of the historic estate on loess and gneiss soils along the Danube that impart vibrancy and depth. Hand-harvested grapes from the balanced 2019 vintage—characterized by moderate conditions yielding concentrated yet fresh fruit—undergo spontaneous fermentation in large oak barrels with full lees contact for extended aging, bottled unfiltered to preserve energy and minerality. Demeter-certified biodynamic since 2006, this production yields a golden wine with remarkable freshness and structure.

Tasting Notes A rich, opulent Wachau Chardonnay with aromas of ripe pineapple, yellow peach, and toasted hazelnut, offering a full-bodied palate of tropical fruit, creamy lees, and subtle oak spice, balanced by vibrant acidity and a long, mineral finish. The nose reveals pineapple, peach, and hazelnut with subtle floral notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied and harmonious, with bright acidity, creamy texture, and flavors of tropical fruit, citrus, and chalky minerality, leading to a long, graceful finish.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 10-12°C with 20-30 minutes of chilling to accentuate aromas. Ideal as an aperitif or paired with seafood, poultry, or soft cheeses. Enjoy now through 2030, during which it will develop enhanced nutty and honeyed nuances.
