From Pikes Wines in Australia’s Clare Valley, the Traditional Riesling 2024 is a refined 100% Riesling sourced half from estate vineyards in Polish Hill River and half from select growers in Watervale, Leasingham, Mintaro, and Sevenhill, featuring ancient slate and loam soils that impart exceptional freshness and structure. Hand-harvested grapes from the cool, late 2024 vintage—marked by steady winter rain and moderate summer conditions yielding concentrated yet vibrant fruit—undergo gentle pressing for free-run juice only, followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and three months' lees aging to enhance texture and purity. Committed to sustainable viticulture since 1886, this 40th consecutive release yields a pale yellow wine with green highlights and remarkable energy.

Tasting Notes An elegant, mineral-driven white with vibrant citrus and floral precision, reflecting Clare Valley’s slate terroir. The nose reveals Meyer lemon, lime cordial, peach confectionary, and hints of grapefruit pith, river stones, and oyster shells. On the palate, it is light-bodied and tightly wound, with racy acidity, fine texture, and flavors of sliced lemon peel, green apple, and struck flint, leading to a long, energetic finish.
