This Sauvignon is sourced from the Lara and Camposanto vineyards in Friuli‑Venezia‑Giulia, sites that benefit from well‑drained soils and cool nights, ideal for preserving aromatics and acidity in Sauvignon Blanc. The wine is conceived as a pure, expressive Friuli DOC white that showcases the region’s hallmark mix of ripeness, minerality and herbal freshness.

Grapes are 100% hand‑harvested, with about half softly pressed as whole clusters to protect delicate aromas before cool fermentation in stainless steel. The wine is then kept on fine lees to build a soft, creamy texture while maintaining a bright, fruit‑driven, unoaked style.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Intense and characteristic bouquet of peach, tropical fruit, guava, gooseberry, tomato leaf, sage and lime, with green‑apple lift.

  • Palate: Dry, fresh and balanced, showing citrus and tropical fruit with a soft, slightly creamy mid‑palate and lively acidity.

  • Finish: Clean and refreshing, with lingering lime, green apple and subtle herbal notes.

Awards and Accolades
A published critic note for Scarbolo Sauvignon Friuli 2020 describes it as a “refreshing white” that is light‑bodied and balanced, underscoring its clean, crisp style, though the numeric rating is not fully visible in the public excerpt. There are otherwise no clearly accessible major‑critic scores and detailed tasting notes specifically for this vintage; other recent vintages are generally regarded as well‑made, aromatic Friuli Sauvignons, but those comments apply to different years.

Serving and Cellaring
Serve at 8–10°C in small to medium white‑wine glasses to emphasize its citrus and herbal freshness. This Sauvignon pairs particularly well with salads, goat cheese, grilled vegetables, seafood, sushi and light pasta dishes, and is best enjoyed now through about 3–5 years from vintage while its aromatics remain vibrant.
