Sourced from Tenuta San Guido's Bolgheri vineyards on gravelly-calcareous soils at 100-300m, primarily Cabernet Sauvignon with Sangiovese from declassified Sassicaia lots. Hand-harvested early September (Cabernet) to late September (Sangiovese), fermented in stainless steel at 29-30°C with indigenous yeasts, aged 8-12 months in used barriques (previously for Guidalberto/Sassicaia), bottled early for freshness at ~13.5% alcohol.
Tasting Notes
Clear ruby red; bright aromas of raspberry, cranberry, dark cherry, cedar, wild strawberry, rosehip, Mediterranean herbs, and balsamic notes. Medium-bodied palate shows juicy red fruits, fine velvety tannins, lively acidity, soft structure, and a crisp, refreshing, slightly spicy finish.
