From Baricci in Italy’s Montalcino, the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019 is a refined 100% Sangiovese sourced from estate vineyards on clay-limestone soils in the northern zone, where cooler microclimates impart freshness and longevity. Hand-harvested grapes from the balanced 2019 vintage—marked by moderate conditions yielding concentrated yet elegant fruit—undergo fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, followed by 36 months' aging in large Slavonian oak casks and 12 months in bottle to foster integration and depth. Committed to sustainable practices since 1955, this production yields a deep garnet wine with profound intensity and graceful poise.

Tasting Notes An elegant, structured red with ripe dark fruit and complex earthy spice, reflecting Montalcino’s clay-limestone terroir. The nose reveals black cherry, licorice, violet, and hints of truffle, tobacco, and balsamic herbs. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet refined, with velvety tannins, vibrant acidity, and flavors of dark plum, graphite, and mineral earthiness, leading to a long, persistent finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino earned 96 points from James Suckling for its neoclassical agility, harmony, and pure fruit character.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 16-18°C with 60 minutes of decanting to unfold aromas. Ideal with roasted game, truffle-infused dishes, or aged cheeses. Enjoy now through 2040, developing profound leather and earthy complexities over time.
