Bodega Noemia was awarded as First Growth of Argentina by Tim Aktin in Argentina 2025 Special Report

From Bodega Noemía in Argentina’s Río Negro Valley, Patagonia, the A Lisa 2023 is a refined blend predominantly Malbec (approximately 90%) with Merlot and Petit Verdot, sourced from old vines on calcareous soils in the historic Mainqué district that impart freshness and concentration due to the region's desert climate and pure Andean irrigation water.

Hand-harvested grapes undergo destemming (partial or full depending on vintage), traditional extraction methods such as punching down or foot treading, and fermentation with indigenous yeasts in open wooden fermenters, cement vessels, or stainless steel tanks. Aging occurs in used French oak barrels to preserve fruit purity and elegance, reflecting the estate's commitment to minimal intervention since its founding by Countess Noemi Marone Cinzano and Hans Vinding-Diers in 1998. This production yields a deep violet wine with remarkable vibrancy and approachability.

Tasting Notes A vibrant, medium-bodied Malbec with aromas of dark plums, violets, and subtle spice, delivering juicy black fruit flavors, fine tannins, and a fresh, balanced finish reflecting Patagonia's cool-climate elegance. The nose displays plums, blackberries, and floral hints. On the palate, it is juicy and harmonious, with supple tannins, bright acidity, and flavors of dark fruit, spice, and subtle earthiness, leading to a long, elegant finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2023 A Lisa earned 93 points from James Suckling for its fine tannins and vibrant fruit character and Tim Atkin for its elegant, fine-grained tannins and understated oak.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 16-18°C with 30-45 minutes of decanting to enhance aromas. Ideal with grilled meats, pasta dishes, or aged cheeses. Enjoy now through 2035, developing greater earthy and silky nuances over time.
