From Brokenwood Wines in Australia’s Hunter Valley, the Semillon 2024 is a refined 100% Semillon sourced exclusively from hand-picked fruit across premium vineyards in Pokolbin on the region’s signature alluvial and clay soils that foster exceptional freshness and structure. Grapes from the condensed yet high-quality 2024 vintage—harvested early due to warm, humid January conditions yielding vibrant acidity and flavor—undergo cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks without oak influence to preserve purity and varietal expression. Committed to sustainable viticulture since 1970, this production yields a pale straw wine with luminous green tints and timeless Hunter elegance.

Tasting Notes An elegant, fresh white with zesty citrus and green apple vibrancy, reflecting Hunter Valley’s classic terroir. The nose reveals lime blossom, green apple, and hints of florals and lemon leaf. On the palate, it is light- to medium-bodied and mouth-filling, with zesty acidity, delicate texture, and flavors of lime juice, lemon pith, and subtle herbs, leading to a long, lingering finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2024 Semillon earned 95 points from Halliday Wine Companion for its pure lemony fruit, palate breadth, and freshness, along with Gold Medals from the 2024 Hunter Valley Wine Show, 2024 NSW Wine Awards, and 2024 Melbourne Royal Wine Awards.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 10-12°C without decanting to preserve vibrancy. Ideal as an aperitif or paired with seafood, especially freshly shucked oysters, or Asian cuisine. Enjoy now through 2035, during which it will develop enhanced toast and flint characters.
