White Peach, Lemon Curd, Toasted Almonds, and Generous Rully Charm

The 2024 David Moret Rully is a generous, beautifully textured Chardonnay from the Côte Chalonnaise crafted with Côte de Beaune precision. It reveals vibrant aromas of white peach, ripe lemon, hawthorn blossom, toasted almonds, and crushed flint. Medium-to-full-bodied and satin-smooth, it combines rich orchard fruit with crisp limestone acidity, finishing clean, savory, and remarkably persistent.

Highlights

  • 100% Chardonnay sourced exclusively from hillside parcels across Rully, the northernmost and most celebrated white wine village of the Côte Chalonnaise.
  • Grown on classic limestone and clay-marl soils that impart generous stone fruit texture, excellent natural freshness, and subtle chalky minerality.
  • Crafted by David Moret, bringing his prestigious Meursault winemaking touch and micro-négociant elevage standards to this exceptional value appellation.
  • Matured for approximately 10 to 12 months in French oak barrels (around 15–20% new oak) followed by stainless steel settling to preserve bright orchard fruit and aromatic lift.
  • From the vibrant, classically proportioned 2024 Burgundy harvest; offers irresistible immediate appeal alongside the poise to cellar comfortably through 2030+.

Tasting Notes

Pale golden yellow with bright greenish reflections, it opens with enticing aromas of ripe yellow apple, white peach, and lemon zest, underpinned by elderflower, crushed limestone, roasted almond, and subtle toasted brioche. The palate is medium-to-full-bodied and generous, carrying ripe orchard fruit and a touch of honey across a spine of crisp limestone acidity, finishing round, fresh, and delightfully savory.

Serving Suggestion

  • Temperature: Serve cellar-cool at 10–12°C in standard white Burgundy stemware.
  • Decanting: Best enjoyed with 10 to 15 minutes of gentle aeration in the glass; pairs wonderfully with roast chicken, pan-fried sole meunière, creamy poultry dishes, or soft goat cheeses. Optimal drinking window now through 2030+.
