From De Bortoli Wines' historic Yarra Valley estate in Dixons Creek, the Estate Vineyard Chardonnay 2019 is a premium 100% Chardonnay sourced from mature estate plots on iron-rich, decomposed basalt soils at elevation. Hand-harvested in this outstanding vintage, the grapes undergo cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by partial maturation in French oak barriques for 9-10 months to enhance texture and complexity while preserving freshness. This commitment to sustainable practices yields a pale straw wine with green highlights and remarkable purity.
Tasting Notes A refined, cool-climate white with citrus and subtle oak finesse, reflecting Yarra Valley's elegant terroir. The nose reveals bright lemon, apple, white flowers, and hints of flinty mineral with delicate oak undertones. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and poised, with vibrant acidity, fine creamy texture, and flavors of juicy stone fruit, pear, and a touch of butterscotch, leading to a crisp, lingering finish.
