From De Bortoli Wines, Australia's esteemed family-owned producer with roots in the Yarra Valley since 1987, the Estate Vineyard Chardonnay 2020 is a refined 100% Chardonnay sourced from mature vines planted in 1976 on the estate's Dixons Creek vineyard, featuring diverse soils that impart complexity and balance. Hand-harvested grapes from the challenging yet rewarding 2020 vintage—marked by cool conditions yielding concentrated flavors—undergo gentle pressing, fermentation in a mix of stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels, followed by 10 months' lees aging to enhance texture and depth. Sustainable practices and minimal intervention yield a pale straw wine with green highlights and remarkable purity.

Tasting Notes An elegant, textured white with bright citrus and creamy stone fruit, reflecting Yarra Valley's cool-climate finesse. The nose reveals lemon zest, melon, apricot, and hints of campfire smoke and seashell minerality. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and harmonious, with crystalline acidity, creamy oak integration, and flavors of white peach, citrus pith, and subtle nuts, leading to a long, balanced finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2020 Estate Vineyard Chardonnay earned 90 points from Wine Enthusiast for its approachable vibrancy and modern structure.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 10-12°C with 20-30 minutes of chilling to highlight aromas. Ideal as an aperitif or paired with seafood, poultry, or soft cheeses. Enjoy now through 2030, during which it will develop enhanced nutty and honeyed nuances.
