From De Bortoli Wines' prestigious Lusatia Park vineyard in the Upper Yarra Valley at Woori Yallock, the PHI Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2022 is a premium 100% Pinot Noir sourced from mature vines planted nearly 40 years ago on deep red volcanic basalt soils at elevation. Hand-harvested in an ideal cool vintage, the grapes are gently destemmed and fermented in small open fermenters, followed by maturation for 9 months in a mix of new and used French oak barriques to build texture and complexity while preserving vibrancy. This single-vineyard expression, named PHI for its philosophical depth, embodies sustainable practices and yields a vibrant ruby wine with remarkable purity and energy.

Tasting Notes An elegant, perfumed red with dark cherry and spice finesse, reflecting Yarra Valley's cool-climate allure. The nose reveals black cherry, clove, dark plum, and hints of forest floor with subtle violet and earth. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and poised, with fine silky tannins, bright acidity, and flavors of red berries, spice, and mocha, leading to a textured, lingering finish.

Awards and Accolades The 2022 PHI Yarra Valley Pinot Noir earned 95 points from James Suckling for its refined elegance and vibrant fruit expression.

Serving and Cellaring Serve at 14-16°C with 30-60 minutes of decanting to unfold aromas. Ideal with roasted duck, mushroom dishes, or charcuterie. Enjoy now through 2032, during which it will develop greater savory depth and silkiness.
