Our red Burgundy (Pinot Noir grape variety) comes from different plots located in the commune of Volnay, in its eastern part, which is not on a hillside. The soils there are quite deep, very clayey and not very calcareous. Historically, Domaine Marquis d'Angerville cultivated approximately 85 ares of Burgundy Red in two plots (Grandes Terres and Petits Prés). In 2019, the opportunity arose to acquire an additional hectare, also in several plots, close to our historic plots (Grandes Terres, Condemaine, Coulezain).
Our Red Burgundy is vinified with the same care as our Premiers Crus and our Village appellations. The vines are old enough (around 30 years on average) to give their full potential to the wine produced. Our Red Burgundy is vibrant, full of energy and very digestible. Regional appellations are always an opportunity for unforgettable discoveries.
